Every fee both marketplaces charge a European seller, side by side — then the same product run through both so you can see what actually lands in your pocket.
On a €27.99 item with €7.00 of product cost and €4.50 of shipping, bol.com leaves you about €0.79 more per unit than eBay.de — €7.41 – €9.09 against €7.46. That is before advertising, and it can reverse at a different price point or in a different category, which is exactly why the calculator below takes your numbers.

Both figures come from the same calculation: order revenue minus commission on whichever base the platform actually uses, minus per-order and payment fees, minus the consumption tax sitting inside your price where that applies, minus your product cost and shipping. No midpoints are invented — where a marketplace publishes a band, you see the band.
COVERAGE: bol.com is a single marketplace serving the Netherlands and Belgium, so unlike the former amazon-eu and ebay-eu this record is not standing in for a continent and needs no rename. Modelled at Dutch VAT (21%), which is also the Belgian rate. Commission is a variable percentage plus a fixed amount per item, both depending on item type, with the fixed amount also depending on selling price including VAT. bol.com publishes the full category table only as a download or inside the seller account, so only one category could be confirmed publicly (Kitchen Merchandise, 5 to 12.5% variable plus €0.05 to €0.95 fixed). The ranges above and the €0.50 fixed estimate remain estimates. 21% Dutch VAT on commission for Dutch companies; reverse charge for EU companies outside the Netherlands. Logistics via bol fulfilment fees are on a separate page and are not modelled. GERMANY ONLY. Renamed from ebay-eu for the same reason amazon-eu became amazon-de: a record carrying market DE while displaying “(EU)” conflates one country with a continent, and eBay rates differ sharply between European sites. The old id still resolves via the alias. Re-sourced from eBay.de’s own business-seller fee page. The flat 11% carried here since July was wrong: German rates run 7% (computers and consumer electronics) to 16% (watches and jewellery), and clothing is marginal at 12% up to €990 then 3%. The fixed fee is €0.35 per order at or under €10 and €0.45 above, not a flat €0.35. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: these are the rates for sellers with Top-Rated or above-average service status; below-standard sellers pay more, so this record shows the best case. eBay.de’s business fee page does not list a regulatory operating fee, unlike eBay.co.uk, so none is modelled. Sneakers at €100 or more are 7%, shop-versus-no-shop thresholds differ for watches and jewellery, and refurbished and used conditions are 5%; none of those variants are modelled. REGULATORY FEE: checked and eBay.de charges NONE, unlike eBay.co.uk’s 0.35%. Its business fee page lists only an international fee (1.2% UK, 1.6% Europe/US/Canada, 3.3% elsewhere, and only when the buyer is outside the eurozone and Sweden) and a 3% currency conversion fee, neither of which applies to a domestic euro sale. The absence is deliberate, not an omission.
On a €27.99 product costing €7.00 with €4.50 shipping, bol.com nets about €8.25 per unit versus €7.46 on eBay.de — a gap of roughly €0.79. That ordering can flip with a different price or category, so run your own numbers before committing.
bol.com charges 8–14% in the general category and eBay.de charges 14%. Both vary by category — the full table on this page lists every one.
Yes. In Europe your listed price is VAT-inclusive, so the tax inside the price is removed from revenue before margin is calculated.
Yes, and most established sellers do — the point of comparing is knowing which one deserves your ad budget and your best pricing. The Goal Planner can split a monthly profit target across both channels at once.
