How we compare Amazon and eBay

Both figures come from the same calculation: order revenue minus commission on whichever base the platform actually uses, minus per-order and payment fees, minus the consumption tax sitting inside your price where that applies, minus your product cost and shipping. No midpoints are invented — where a marketplace publishes a band, you see the band.

Referral fee on item + shipping. Beauty/grocery: 8% under $10, 15% above. Apparel >$20 is 17%; 5% under $15. FBA fulfillment not included — enter as shipping cost. 2025–26 referral fees frozen. Final value fee 13.6% (most categories) on total incl. shipping + $0.30/$0.40 per order. Raised +0.35% Feb 2025. Payments included.
