Every fee both marketplaces charge a European seller, side by side — then the same product run through both so you can see what actually lands in your pocket.
On a €27.99 item with €7.00 of product cost and €4.50 of shipping, bol.com leaves you about €0.62 more per unit than Amazon.de — €7.41 – €9.09 against €7.63. That is before advertising, and it can reverse at a different price point or in a different category, which is exactly why the calculator below takes your numbers.

Both figures come from the same calculation: order revenue minus commission on whichever base the platform actually uses, minus per-order and payment fees, minus the consumption tax sitting inside your price where that applies, minus your product cost and shipping. No midpoints are invented — where a marketplace publishes a band, you see the band.
GERMANY ONLY, re-sourced from amazon.de’s own pricing page this pass. It was amazon-eu, one euro record standing in for Germany, the Netherlands, France and others with VAT approximated at 20%; that could not honestly carry per-country fulfilment, since German local, European Fulfilment Network and Pan-EU differ by about 3x on the same weight band. It now carries real German VAT at 19%, the Germany-only fulfilment table and the German digital services treatment. France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands are NOT modelled and the UI says so rather than implying coverage. The old id amazon-eu still resolves here via the alias. A German-established seller selling in the German store pays NO digital services fee, which is why there is no catch-all row. Several thresholds genuinely differ from the UK and were corrected: furniture breaks at €200 not £175, jewellery and watches at €250 not £225, automotive at €50 not £45, and tools are 13% not 15%. Not modelled: the Prime/FBA clothing variant (15% to €45 then 7% above) and the 13% furniture-accessory and door/window sub-rates. COVERAGE: bol.com is a single marketplace serving the Netherlands and Belgium, so unlike the former amazon-eu and ebay-eu this record is not standing in for a continent and needs no rename. Modelled at Dutch VAT (21%), which is also the Belgian rate. Commission is a variable percentage plus a fixed amount per item, both depending on item type, with the fixed amount also depending on selling price including VAT. bol.com publishes the full category table only as a download or inside the seller account, so only one category could be confirmed publicly (Kitchen Merchandise, 5 to 12.5% variable plus €0.05 to €0.95 fixed). The ranges above and the €0.50 fixed estimate remain estimates. 21% Dutch VAT on commission for Dutch companies; reverse charge for EU companies outside the Netherlands. Logistics via bol fulfilment fees are on a separate page and are not modelled.
On a €27.99 product costing €7.00 with €4.50 shipping, bol.com nets about €8.25 per unit versus €7.63 on Amazon.de — a gap of roughly €0.62. That ordering can flip with a different price or category, so run your own numbers before committing.
Amazon.de charges 15% in the general category and bol.com charges 8–14%. Both vary by category — the full table on this page lists every one.
Yes. In Europe your listed price is VAT-inclusive, so the tax inside the price is removed from revenue before margin is calculated.
Yes, and most established sellers do — the point of comparing is knowing which one deserves your ad budget and your best pricing. The Goal Planner can split a monthly profit target across both channels at once.
